Rediscovering Sesame Street

I grew up in the Seventies and I remember Sesame Street being a huge part of my childhood. I used to love it and now that I have a baby I am rediscovering it. Today I spent quite some time in front of YouTube with little A on my lap watching videos. One of Little A's favorite is this one about the word "separate" which I love too, probably for other reasons than my son's... Jake is cute.

I am sooo glad blue is getting the acclaim it deserves this season! I found this electric blue dress from Topshop's Unique collection. Such a lovely happy colour, it made me feel warm and fuzzy...

And then I found this lovely smock dress by See by Chloe at Selfridge's this weekend, I just had to buy it. I don't own many dresses, and I find it really hard finding one I really like, but this was perfect on. I can't wait till it gets sunny (which in London means a long time away).

And next on my list there are a few more See by Chloe cuties. I especially love the prints.

I think this print is beautiful, so full of energy! It is by Amapo, the Brazilian label that recently showed at Sao Paulo Fashion Week. Unfortunately they don't have a website (I could help them build one if they ever want it...) but I have to give credit to Coolhunting for the image and for making me aware of this very cool brand from my home-country.

I found this site today because I saw this guy wearing a great camo print jacket. It was a geometric camo that I really loved. I then searched in Google and it brought me to this site. It's called Chemical-Records. Truly original and interesting brands.

I found some interesting prints at Asos while looking for a pair of skinny jeans. I never thought of shopping at Asos, I thought it was for wags only... but after having spent most of my Friday running around trying to find a replacement for my beloved Ja Brand skinny jeans, I decided to try online. I will let you know once I receive the jeans if the experience was fully successful.

This brand of cosmetics and detergent, Dauble & Bauble, has lovely packaging, and what struck me is that you can choose the pattern you want for your bottles. I love that! I bore easily and this way I can have a different design every time I buy!

Paul & Joe now have makeup too! I was browsing their site, enjoying all the pretty packaging and I found these very cute wallpapers at the their website. The floral is beautiful, striking and it has an endearing "handmadeness" to it. The cat wallpaper as well, looks hand-drawn and it is offbeat-cute.

Tiny flowers

Very small flowers are blooming everywhere. Winter hasn't quite left us yet but Spring is at the door, knocking, demanding that we let her in. Why wait after all? these floral ditsy dresses have been spotted all around town, peeking out of overcoats, paired with Uggs, skinnies or very bright, very opaque tights... Reminiscent of Liberty, the small florals are here to stay.

Non cutesy creatures

I was just going through the weekend's must-reads and came across Donna Wilson on the Standard magazine (which comes out on Fridays but I didn't make it to reading it till today because who has the time?) She creates little creatures and home furnishings that are lovely in an non-cutesy way. What grabbed my attention were the patterns on the creatures and furnishings. Donna is a textile designer (who happens to be a neighbor, sort of...) and her style is really cool.

Snowboading gear is the coolest out there! I wish I had the coordination necessary to snowboard, or even ski for that matter, just so I could wear the great outfits!
